Development Assistant (Part-Time) (SC Philharmonic)

Part-Time Development Assistant
The South Carolina Philharmonic seeks a part-time Development Assistant to assist the Development Director and Executive Director in all aspects of fundraising, including grant writing, donor prospecting and stewardship, and coordinating special events and fundraisers. This person will also provide administrative support to the Executive Director and senior staff, from booking guest artists and setting up speaking engagements, to various clerical functions such as preparing correspondence, booking hotel rooms for import musicians and coordinating the SCP’s Kids to Concerts program. This position requires a self-starter with a high level of professionalism, the ability to multi-task, strong organizational and people skills, computer proficiency (Access, Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint) and the ability to work in a dynamic office environment.
Duties include:
- Grant writing
- Donor database proficiency (Access & Excel)
- Preparation of thank you letters and stewardship activities (Mail Merge)
- Work with agents to coordinate guest artist visits: make availability and fee queries, request contracts, make travel arrangements
- Schedule professional speaking engagements for Music Director (civic groups, government meetings, etc.)
- Liaison to Board of Directors: generate meeting notices, update records, prepare annual “notebooks”
- Program manager for Kids to Concerts program
- Generate professional letters and correspondence
- Keep calendar for Executive Director and Music Director
- Other duties as assigned

Director of Development
Full time position available (will consider part-time). Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Director of Development is responsible for all aspects of fundraising to include capital campaign, annual giving, planned giving, and special projects. Principle areas of responsibility include broadening the cultivation, education, and solicitation of current and new donors for annual giving and capital gifts, identification and solicitation of individuals, foundations, and corporations, preparation of fundraising plans and coordination and motivation of volunteers and staff in fundraising and development activities.
Minimum requirements: Undergraduate degree and five years of successful fundraising experience in comprehensive development programs (capital, annual giving, membership, foundation, corporation, and individual fundraising).
